The 2023 California State Games in San Diego were a great opportunity for Reshod athletes on both ends of the age spectrum to race together. Darlene Backlund (70+ age group) of the So Cal Track Club, and Mia Fissore (11-12 year olds) of the San Diego Waves XC team each took first place in their respective age groups in the 1500m racewalk. Both wore the Coach Carmen Racewalk Shoes. Mia’s 11:42 time earned her the win and a trip to Eugene, Oregon to compete in the 2023 USATF National Junior Olympic Track and Field Championships in the new Hayward Field stadium.
