Sunday, April 29th – Mt. Angel, OR. When Reshod customer, Dr. Stephanie Casey laced up her red Reshod Walking Shoes on Sunday, April 29th, she wasn’t expecting to hit the 1:52 qualifying standard for this year’s USATF Outdoor National Championships. The last-minute entry was just nine weeks postpartum with her fourth child. She just wanted to see how close she could get to the mark so she could train for another attempt in early June. However, with perfect weather conditions and good competition, the two-time Olympic Trials competitor pulled out a 1:50:06.69 to punch her ticket to the US Outdoor National Championships at Drake Stadium in Des Moines, Iowa on June 22nd. We couldn’t be happier for her!
Not far behind Stephanie was Lydia McGranahan, a relatively new race walker that trains with Coach Carmen. Lydia led Stephanie for the first half of the race, until the veteran racer pulled away around the 11k mark. Lydia’s finish time was 1:51:47.72. She was pretty excited to see her hard work pay off! In case you are curious, both women walked a sub 9:00 pace. We wish both women a successful race at the Outdoor Nationals.
