Event Description: Meet up at the Vista Brook park by 8:30 a.m. Coach Carmen will review the racewalk and power walking technique and give tips on how to pace yourself during the warmup. At 9:00 a.m., we’ll start the 5km race on the Fanno Creek Trail at the 92nd Street turnaround. Each walker will get a finish time, but the official winners will be based on the unofficial finish time located on the backside of the Chocolate coin you’ll pull out the of the Lucky Leprechaun’s hat after finishing the race…hence the name – SHAM-walk. We’ll be giving away St. Patrick’s Day – themed prizes such as Lucky Charms cereal, Irish Spring Soap, a shamrock plant, and of course a pot-o-gold chocolate coins to the lucky grand prize winner. 
All prizes will be based on the fake time you pull out of the hat at the completion of your race. Oh, and just to sweeten the pot, we’re throwing in some free Reshod Walking Shoes, prizes, too. Sign up at this LINK. The race is limited to 50 walkers.
