The Reshod Pushover walking shoe propelled me to speed walk Grandma’s marathon (Two Harbors to Duluth) last week in 6 hours and 26 minutes, without getting injured and finishing before closing time, at an of 71 years old/young !!! The Pushover is great walking shoe, as shown by my results. I bought these shoes about 3 months before the marathon, as I realized that none of the shoes in my shoe collection would work good for a marathon and I have shoes for running, walking, hiking, nordic ski, biking, etc. What I like about the shoe is the low cut heel, with the flex being being right under the ball of the foot. After I started to learn how to speed walk about 8 months ago is that speed walking technique is completely different that running; therefore, the race walking shoe design should be different that a running shoe design. I did run a marathon once in 3 hrs and 17 minutes. The Reshod shoe design is for speed walking, not running – which is great. For the marathon, I did use a Dr. Scholl’s gel insert for the heel and arch, in order to reduce impact stress over 26 miles. I tried a heel insert and a full foot insert, but these did not work as well for me. Inserts would not be needed, if I was 50 years younger and weighed 50 pounds less. It rained for about 3 hours during my marathon walk and the Reshod shoes kept my feet dry. I plan to continue speed walking and participate in races, for as long as possible. In summary, I recommend Pushover shoe for walking.

I’m a big fan of both the red shoes and the blue shoes. But since neither is currently available in my size, M8.5/W10, I ordered a pair of the Pushover Walking Shoe (Black/Lime) which arrived yesterday. I tried them out today on a 5-mile power walk on an indoor track and they performed beautifully with no break in needed. I plan to rotate these with my red ones for training and keep the blue ones strictly for races until they become available again.
