Race Walk 102 – How to Walk Fast for Competition


Once your race walk technique is proficient, it’s time to pick up the pace. RW102 teaches you how to prepare for a speed workout. We start with a quick review of your walking technique before transitioning to learning a four-part warm up, including eight dynamic stretches and four walking drills. Next, we’ll learn about three different types of workouts that are geared to burn fat, build your endurance base and improve leg speed. Following that, we’ll learn to step count, which helps you feel those different paces.

NOTE: This class offering includes a sample workout that allows you to practice those three different paces but does not teach you how to design a specific training plan. Workout schedules are unique to your chosen race distance and individual fitness level. Follow-up with an experienced coach, if you need this information.
