Now that you have learned the race walk technique, it’s time to speed things up. Race Walk 102 explains the components of a track workout to build speed and efficiency. We’ll start by reviewing the technique. After that we’ll learn what all those painted marks mean on the track.
Next, we’ll go through a proper warm up, practice some different speed drills and end with some fast walking to calculate your proper stride length for fast and efficient walking. Bring paper and pencil to take notes, hydration (if it’s a hot day) and a camera or phone to get some video for reference.
